Lace up those hiking shoes and hit the trail this summer while learning more about Ogden Valley’s history, geology and geography! Have you’ve ever wondered about Ogden Valley’s beginnings….. its Shoshone heritage, its mountain man fur trade days, the settlement of Eden, Liberty and Huntsville? Or, how about the days when Ogden Valley was under 300 feet of Lake Bonneville water, creating the dynamics for its historic artesian wells, today’s source for Ogden City‘s water? Did you know there was once train service up Ogden Canyon to Ogden Valley? And, how did it happen that Ogden Valley became home to multiple world class winter resorts, one of which would come to host both past and future Winter Olympic events? Here’s your chance to learn Ogden Valley’s great heritage backstories, all while hiking Ogden Valley’s scenic trails together with like minded friends and residents!

Beginning in June, Ogden

Valley History Hikes, sponsored by OV200 (Ogden Valley Bicentennial Council), HELVILLE- Adventure Unlimited and HEL FITNESS are teaming up to offer this unique Ogden Valley outdoor experience!

Guided trail hikes will be scheduled and conducted every other Saturday through October (subject to weather and interest) for groups up to 10. Interested Ogden Valley adventurists will register in advance and meet at selected trail-heads. Most hikes will be taken at a leisurely, conversational pace and range from 3-6 miles.
